See Puzzle 1 for instructions. Wow, it's been a long time since I made one of these! Yes, I was trying to render the kanji for "Japan" in givens; yes, it does mean a lot gets filled in quickly. But I packed a few tricks in there, so it's all good. - ZM

Generally, I don't solicit puzzle solutions anymore, but if you're not certain that what you've come up with is a proper solution, you can go ahead and email it to me, and I'll confirm it for you (or point out an error if there are any). Whatever manner of image file is most convenient for you should work for me, or you can have fun rendering it in text.
