Sorry bout the laptop thing- I would strongly recommend that you let Ben try taking a look at it, he won't charge as much as a regular repair place would at least. And he's usually just as reliable (or more so, as far as I'm concerned).
I did actually have a brief thought about the hole- if you want to avoid widening the hole, could you perhaps get a piece of plywood? See if you can find a large one, preferably about double the length and width of the hole itself, and put it over the hole. Even if it's just a temporary measure, it could help a lot- spreading the weight across a larger thing always helps more than putting all the weight on the one bed leg and letting the floor get further damaged. You probably have a better idea of the exact physics of it anyways. But there's the suggestion for ya.
